Culture.pl: the interactive future

Paweł Schreiber: The most interesting visions of the future are those that try to blur the line between today and tomorrow, finding traces of what is happening today in what may happen tomorrow. Joseph Conrad dedicated his "Secret Agent" to HG Wells as a "historian of the ages to come" - and the task of a historian is not only to interpret the traces of the past, but also to build a continuity between them and today - in this connection of the present and distant times lies the essence of the difference between historical thinking and mythical thinking. Visions of the future are very popular in video games - we will look at a few recently released or still in development Polish games that try to imagine what the world might look like in a few decades - or several centuries.
